After the glorious sunshine all day yesterday, down came the rain, and loud was the thunder.  In between, of course, the pitter patter of rain drops all around, sometimes cacophony, at other times a gentle buzz.  And it looks like the curry leaves on the deck got themselves a good shower.

A few years ago, I got a sapling just a couple of inches long as a birthday present, soon after we had returned from a summer in France.  The flat peaches (pêches plates) there were out of this world, and it was such a pleasure to have the chance to grow them in the backyard.  Fast forward to today, and the most rewarding sight is the bounty that is getting ready!  You can just taste, feel, and smell the juicy nectar from these fruit, nature's candy! And then there are the hydrangea, about to come into bloom, with no help from us at all.  They keep coming, year after year, faithful to us, who don't really deserve them. Meanwhile, the neighbor's tulip tree continues to offer sights of wonderment. And there has been this little set of leaves on the deck that has held my attention for the past few days; its greenery just arrests the eyes and doesn't let go!

Haven't had much success catching birds and other flying objects, but on this sunny day with a couple of bumble bees flying around, one of the 30 or so shots I tried worked out reasonably well.

Woke up to perfect sunshine, blue skies, chirping birds, and the neighbor's tulip tree that has been mesmerizing me since Easter Sunday, as I gaze at it from our deck.
