Peaches and things

A few years ago, I got a sapling just a couple of inches long as a birthday present, soon after we had returned from a summer in France.  The flat peaches (pêches plates) there were out of this world, and it was such a pleasure to have the chance to grow them in the backyard.  Fast forward to today, and the most rewarding sight is the bounty that is getting ready!  You can just taste, feel, and smell the juicy nectar from these fruit, nature's candy!

And then there are the hydrangea, about to come into bloom, with no help from us at all.  They keep coming, year after year, faithful to us, who don't really deserve them.

Meanwhile, the neighbor's tulip tree continues to offer sights of wonderment.

And there has been this little set of leaves on the deck that has held my attention for the past few days; its greenery just arrests the eyes and doesn't let go!
